Spending my childhood in vast plains of Canada given the opportunity to draw inspiration upon nature. When I first come into contact with many different types of natural gemstone I’m so fascinated by the beauty and the limitless possibility. So the story goes with my college years majoring jewelry design, after graduation become designer by profession. For more than a decade I collaborate with many different people, designing wide range of products, from commercial jewelry to private clients couture work. Slowly I began to realize I am living in someone’s dream and not of my own. I don’t want my story to be flat as a pancake. That is exactly why I create Majade Design, extraordinary jewelry for the everyday life!
Among with a good friend who is also a jewelry enthusiast, we same vision and join forces. From sketch to assembly everything is made in our own studio. Jewelry is created with both traditional and new technique: for gold we mostly use lost-wax casting; and for stones we aim to invent our own setting technique. We use non-orthodox setting methods to give our work a new look. We feel in the commercial environment consumer and the creator have a strong barrier. The creator is impersonal and customers rarely have the chance to know the inspiration and share ideas with the creator. Hence jewelry only exits as a merchandise rather than art. We hope to narrow the distance between audience and us, directly shares our ideas and concepts, so that the finished product is vibrant and lively.
Jewelry is a form of expression, and life we believe is all about freedom and independence. We want to live a dream of our own. After all, to live a life takes more than food and shelter! “For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught.” A quote from this very well-known song sum up our spirit! Support us and embrace freedom!
